Its been yet another long hiatus since my last blog, but I bear good news ppl! Late last month, I won a trip to London to watch U2!! Yes, it all began when a friend of mine told me that there was a radio contest going on the airwaves and the grand prize was a trip for 2 to London to watch my fav band. All you had to do was be the 1st caller through and listen to a snippet of 5 U2 songs and name each song in order. The person that gets most right and in the shortest amount of time wins the grand prize. Naturally, I immediately dedicated the next few days to making sure I somehow get through and win it. And what can i say....Perseverance pays! :)
So, with that in mind, I began toying the idea of extending my trip to do a little traveling. I've never been to Europe mainly because the Pound n Euro scares the shit out of me! Since now that the airfare is covered, why not plan something I thought. So for weeks, I was like a mad researcher, constantly searching and scouting for deals and planning my route. I have to say, its alot of work but its alot of fun too!
The final plan: London->Paris->Barcelona->Madrid->London. I know, its not that elaborate as I'm not covering many countries. But i didn't want to just step on as many countries' soil as possible and not enjoy myself. I believe that if you spend a bit more time at one place, you get to soak up more of the culture and also enjoy the trip alot more. On tope of that, I'm doing it backpacker style. (actually, not by choice, just that I'm traveling alone and i don't have the money to go upscale) But the youth hostels aren't as cheap as I expected: 25 euro a night on average, but I guess thats coz its peak summer travel season.
Anyways, will have more updates as I get ready for my trip. Gosh, only 6 more days before I fly! Woohoo...Can you tell that i'm excited? :P

more great memories....
You know the feeling where you can't wait for something to be over and when it is, you just miss it? Well, thats kinda how I'm feeling about the wrap of Deja Vu. Almost a week has gone by since I left Hoi An and being back in KL has been nice, but I can't help but to miss the beach, the actors and the adrenaline rush of those long and grusome shoot days. It was tough, no doubt due to the weather conditions but I tried to make the best out of it. Maybe its because I have so shit and uncertainty to deal with here in KL (and in Singapore) that it was nice to just have one task to do, and that is to act, during my stay in Vietnam. Anyway, one thing I am really glad is that I have parted ways with my housemate and I don't have to deal with his bullshit anymore. BIG relief!
Anyhow, life goes on and I have to look forward to my next project. What it is you ask? well, isn't that the big question. Haha. Well, actually its no laughing matter. Times are tough as we all know but the industry i'm in SOLELY depends on advertisers and media spending dollars and its evident that those dollars are only trickling in drops at the moment. I just spoke to my agent yesterday and she told me that its very slow in Singapore and it doesn't look like MediaCorp has any more dramas to shoot for the rest of the year. Maybe thats one of the reasons why they pushed "Polo Boys" till october. Anyhow, I'm determined to go back and hopefully do a little more PR stuff through publication work, interviews and photo shoots.
Ooo!! Something really to look forward to is my sister's first kid! She's due to deliver middle of July and I'm gonna be an uncle! How exciting! :) I told my sister that I'll be the best uncle and get him his first lapdance when he turns 18. HEHeHe... I know!! I'll be the uncle i never had!
Anyway, I should probably hit the gym now.....Here are some more great memories from Hoi An beach...well, up till my camera crapped out on me....Grrr.

just a thought
I'm so addicted to running on the beach. Its just the best feeling ever. However, after a very strenuous workout at the crappy gym, I didn't feel like running. I walked to the beach and just stood there admiring the scenery. It was quite a moment. The orange sky was radiating right above the greenish-red sea. Tiny waves crashed into my ankles whiles I was listening to Toad the Wet Sprocket's "Walk on the Ocean". It was peaceful.
Wish I had a photo to share but my camera crapped out on me. Ughh.

summer holidays!
HOT! That's pretty much what i'm constantly feeling these days. Vietnam is currently having its summer holidays .....Did ya know they have seasons? I've been told that in winter it gets nice and cool around 18-20C. Thats pretty nice....but as of now, its hitting the hi 30s and somedays it hits 40C. I'm just quite thankful that I'm not in KL experiencing the heat AND the haze....Yeap, its that time of the year again. Every year its the same scenario: The burning in Indonesia begins, KL gets hazy, M'sian gov vouches to do something about it so it won't happen again the following year and the rest is...well, deja vu i suppose.... Speaking of which! Yes, I've been here in Hoi An beach filming Deja Vu for almost 2 weeks now. So far, its been alot of fun working with all the other actors and crew, but due to the harsh weather, everyone is kinda edgy so I try to stay out of anyone's way.
The breakfast buffet is probably one of the best things of the day! Its got a variety but the only problem is that its the same variety everyday. After almost 2 weeks, i'm running out of options with the mix and match. The beach here at Victoria Resort is really what u see on a postcard...White sandy beaches and clear waters and blue skies. The best part is that because its a private beach, there's very few people on the beach at one time. On my days off, I put on my iPOD n just run on the beach and watch the sunset...Can't get any better than that! So here are some photos from Hoi An to share with everyone. Stay cool people :)

Halfway mark
Wow, did time hop on the express train in a hurry to go somewhere?? Its definitely traveling at lightspeed, seeing that its already mid of 2009! Yes folks, almost HALF of 2009 is gone! Anyway, enough with the scary tales....I was quite happy the fact that I got to do some emceeing again recently. Since I started acting in February, haven't had the time or chance to do much hosting. So it was quite a thrill for me to do it again. To top it off, I got to meet one of the current hottest HK actresses named Bernice Liu! It was a simple affair: Basically, it was a press conference to reveal Bernice as the latest ambassador of this skin care product called Nutox. When I was first approached for the job, I was told that I had to do a talk-show-like interview with Bernice and that got me a little worried about the language barrier because the entire press launch was conducted in English. But then I found out that she's actually a Canadian native, which to my relief, was perfect! No more worries! To my surprise, she came with a rather small entourage and was more friendly and curtious than what I would expect from a big time celebrity. I can see that she's very in touch with her fans and really knows how to handle the media. From our brief conversations, I could tell that this girl is pretty grounded and didn't get to where she is purely on luck. She has definitely put in the time, effort, heart and soul to achieve this level of success. Ok, enough about her. Moving on....BASKETBALL!!! yes, its been a CRAZZZY NBA playoffs man.....Although I don't get to watch all the games, I still try to catch the highlights online. So I'm down with the Lakers taking down the Magic in 6 games for the championship.. I know, Dwight Howard has been DOMINATING in the paint and kicked Cavs ass sending Lebron home early, but I tell ya, Kobe and team have a few bodies, i.e Bynum & Gasol to throw at him so if they can stop him from crashing on the offensive boards, you know LA is gonna give Magic a run for their money. Ok, time to go to bed. More updates coming straight from Danang, Vietnam over the weekend! Ciao.

Polo Boys!!!
Ah, finally back in KL and it feels good to be back! I don't think i've been away from KL this long of a period since I went to Uni in the states. I've been stuffing myself like crazy coz i miss all the good food. Guess I'll pay the price in the gym. I should practice some self control seeing that I have a magazine cover shoot next week! But I'm sure all the traveling I'll be doing this month will help me lose a couple of pounds....Gotta rush back out to SG next week, stay a week n back to KL before heading back out again on the 1st....Exciting but tiring!
Anyway, now I have some chill time, I guess it'll be cool to share some moments from the process of filming of polo boys. Looking at the pictures, I must say those are some good memories. Well, keeping my fingers crossed that it'll do well in terms of ratings when it hits Channel 5(Singapore) in July. If so, we can definitely expect a second season :)
At The Fly Artist gathering: Left to right is: Li Lin, Elizabeth, Allan,me, Irene and Mindee. Very nice ppl they are!
Just a group pose photo after we shot a hilarious scene that involved some major puking!
El Director aka "Chan"(The guy smiling like he won the lottery!) watching a playback after a take
Prepping a showdown with an opponent...Look how serious we are! U know we're gonna kick ass! :P
Neswpaper write up on the show. Yeap....Those are some really skimpy red trunks!
I think its a great photo...just one of those "moment" shots. Taken from a newspaper interview with Michelle Chia ( The hot babe!) about the show...oh yea, she's our coach in the series :P

Sing sing sing...........
Alright, at the rate of my postings, i'm DEAD sure no one bothers to follow. Again, like always, I sincerely apologize. But, I just figured that I owe it to "my blog" to at least give it a little bit life whenever i can, irregardless of the presence of an audience.
At the time of my last post, I was kinda at a crossroads: Shit, I'm out of a job....Gotta see where i wanna take this entertainment thing to, wanna keep doing it but not much is going on especially during these tough times. And at that moment, I decided to do what I've always wanted to do, but was too complacent to take any action: To pursue acting. I packed my bags n headed down south..... heard bout this little island called Singapore that might have some opportunities for me.
Coming to a new place, I wanted some structure in terms of getting myself into the industry. Thats why I signed on with Fly entertainment and immediately I auditioned for a role in Channel 5 series called "Polo Boys" and I got the gig! How sweet is that! So, for the past 2 n half months, its just been filming, day in day out. As a result, I am 2 shades darker! It was a blast as I was blessed with the opportunity to work with some really great people. An experience that I'll always cherish. It'll be on air starting July 21st 2009, so keeping my fingers crossed that it'll be a hit.
So i guess the acting thing is going ok....Still learning alot of course. Like I told my friend Sarah, "Only 19 and half years to go to become a great actor!" hahaha.........
