Halfway mark

Wow, did time hop on the express train in a hurry to go somewhere?? Its definitely traveling at lightspeed, seeing that its already mid of 2009! Yes folks, almost HALF of 2009 is gone! Anyway, enough with the scary tales....I was quite happy the fact that I got to do some emceeing again recently. Since I started acting in February, haven't had the time or chance to do much hosting. So it was quite a thrill for me to do it again. To top it off, I got to meet one of the current hottest HK actresses named Bernice Liu! It was a simple affair: Basically, it was a press conference to reveal Bernice as the latest ambassador of this skin care product called Nutox. When I was first approached for the job, I was told that I had to do a talk-show-like interview with Bernice and that got me a little worried about the language barrier because the entire press launch was conducted in English. But then I found out that she's actually a Canadian native, which to my relief, was perfect! No more worries! To my surprise, she came with a rather small entourage and was more friendly and curtious than what I would expect from a big time celebrity. I can see that she's very in touch with her fans and really knows how to handle the media. From our brief conversations, I could tell that this girl is pretty grounded and didn't get to where she is purely on luck. She has definitely put in the time, effort, heart and soul to achieve this level of success. Ok, enough about her. Moving on....BASKETBALL!!! yes, its been a CRAZZZY NBA playoffs man.....Although I don't get to watch all the games, I still try to catch the highlights online. So I'm down with the Lakers taking down the Magic in 6 games for the championship.. I know, Dwight Howard has been DOMINATING in the paint and kicked Cavs ass sending Lebron home early, but I tell ya, Kobe and team have a few bodies, i.e Bynum & Gasol to throw at him so if they can stop him from crashing on the offensive boards, you know LA is gonna give Magic a run for their money. Ok, time to go to bed. More updates coming straight from Danang, Vietnam over the weekend! Ciao.

Polo Boys!!!

Ah, finally back in KL and it feels good to be back! I don't think i've been away from KL this long of a period since I went to Uni in the states. I've been stuffing myself like crazy coz i miss all the good food. Guess I'll pay the price in the gym. I should practice some self control seeing that I have a magazine cover shoot next week! But I'm sure all the traveling I'll be doing this month will help me lose a couple of pounds....Gotta rush back out to SG next week, stay a week n back to KL before heading back out again on the 1st....Exciting but tiring!

Anyway, now I have some chill time, I guess it'll be cool to share some moments from the process of filming of polo boys. Looking at the pictures, I must say those are some good memories. Well, keeping my fingers crossed that it'll do well in terms of ratings when it hits Channel 5(Singapore) in July. If so, we can definitely expect a second season :)

Sing sing sing...........

Alright, at the rate of my postings, i'm DEAD sure no one bothers to follow. Again, like always, I sincerely apologize. But, I just figured that I owe it to "my blog" to at least give it a little bit life whenever i can, irregardless of the presence of an audience.

At the time of my last post, I was kinda at a crossroads: Shit, I'm out of a job....Gotta see where i wanna take this entertainment thing to, wanna keep doing it but not much is going on especially during these tough times. And at that moment, I decided to do what I've always wanted to do, but was too complacent to take any action: To pursue acting. I packed my bags n headed down south..... heard bout this little island called Singapore that might have some opportunities for me.

Coming to a new place, I wanted some structure in terms of getting myself into the industry. Thats why I signed on with Fly entertainment and immediately I auditioned for a role in Channel 5 series called "Polo Boys" and I got the gig! How sweet is that! So, for the past 2 n half months, its just been filming, day in day out. As a result, I am 2 shades darker! It was a blast as I was blessed with the opportunity to work with some really great people. An experience that I'll always cherish. It'll be on air starting July 21st 2009, so keeping my fingers crossed that it'll be a hit.

So i guess the acting thing is going ok....Still learning alot of course. Like I told my friend Sarah, "Only 19 and half years to go to become a great actor!" hahaha.........

Gong Xi Gong Xi......

whats up peeps! Man, CNY has come and almost gone. Here's hoping that all of u had a good time with the family and friends.

Most of you who do catch me or at least know about The breakfast show would have probably figured that I'm no longer with the show. I've been asked by many as to why I left. Well, I didn't. The true story is that my contract ran out, they decided to do an entirely different show which they felt I, along with a few of the other host didn't fit their new direction and replaced a total of 4 of us with ,well, more suited people. Fair enough. I understand their looking for brand positioning and revamps etc, so I had no qualms about not being apart of it.

So now I'm on my own again, free as a bird and just doing my thing. Whats next?? well....You'll just have to wait and see ;)

Oh before i forget, do go out and get the Feb issue of "August" Men's magazine. Myself and a few other male local celebrities did an interesting shoot for the mag. Here's the shot that they decided to use in the end, which was one of my favorite one. Tell me if I look like I lost the fight or won the fight, would ya? ;)

Endings & Beginnings

Wow, what a week. I mean it has just been a manic 7-day period.

Friday morning started out with an emotional moment. After 3 years (Me being on for 2 of it), The Breakfast Show is taking a much deserve break in the month of December. In fact, the show is gonna come back on in Jan with a nice revamp. Will I be apart of this next year? Well, will have to wait and find out......
So all 6 of us host, for the first time ever, were on the set at the SAME time. Pretty chaotic I must say! I had alot of fun hosting with these guys over the last 2 years and the last day was definitely no different. The only downer was that I was ill the night before and had the runs. So my knees were weak and I was drained. Nonetheless, being a professional, I finished the job!

Also, Friday night was the Ultimate Prom Night Finals. So right after the Breakfast show, I had to rush over to Segi College in Kota Damansara for rehearsals. I was struggling to keep my energy levels up as my fever was full blown and my stomach was rumbling the whole time. But when the time can to shoot the event at night, I brought my A-game on and KILLED it! Sarah was also great with her performance and I must say she has improved alot since when we first started. She works hard so she deserves the credit and respect for that. Make sure all of you tune in Dec 11th 2008 on 8tv to catch the finals!

On my personal development side, I was very fortunate to be apart of the NIDA "on-screen acting" extended course this year and it was such a blast! My tutor, Nicholas Bishopp (Who looks alot like Simon Barker, those rom-com fans would know who he is) is such a knowledgeable, experience, talented and articulate actor's mentor. Although I only managed to spend about a week learning from him, I must say the experience was overwhelming. My group's project was called "Hiding", a funny short story about making something big out of nothing. I played the "gay accountant" HAHAHA. Very interesting role and the end product was actually quite funny. (Judging by the laughs, of course) An acting career?? Perhaps....Will pursue further in 2009.

Thank God the weekend is here.....
